Wounds to scars
Like Paul, who once was weary
Yet lifted when Titus came
I found in you kindness
That steadies me the same.
You listen past the shadows
Through silence, aches, and fears
Working with a gentle voice
To turn my wounds into scars.
Your presence is a lantern
Your words are healing balm
Guiding me through storms within
To a place of rest and calm.
God sends His word to heal us
To lift us from despair
You’ve been His faithful messenger
His promise answered there.
I thank the LORD for sending you
A gift, a gracious friend
For in your care, I’ve learned anew
How broken hearts can mend.
And though the past still whispers
Its pain is no longer mars
By God’s grace and through your help, my wounds have turned to scars.

MISDIRECTED
Hello Mis
Yes you
Misdirected,
You see the rage
That put you in a cage?
Should not have been for your husband.
But buried secrets, shames, and lies
Will fester in your soul
Or, like a gasket under pressure, explodes.
Misguided
You brought your daddy issues into your marriage
Mistaking
his fight to survive oppression
As desertion.
Misplacing
the role of your father on your lover.
This seed was planted when you
Misunderstood lustful attention for affection.
Awakening love way too soon
Before your emotions were fine-tuned.
Misalignment
You no longer have to be broken or bent
The 20th verse of Psalms 107
Assures that healing in God’s words was sent.
These healing words were sent through my counsellor, Joanna
Who must have prayed
Like Jeremiah,
For God to put His words on her lips.
For even when admonishing, she does so with care and kindness.
She patiently and lovingly
Help you heal,
Forgiving your past,
Understanding your cause and
Turning your wounds into scars.
