Rewrite Your Money Story
A trauma-informed 4-week financial education programme to help you stop living paycheck to paycheck — and start feeling safe, confident and in control of your money.
September 6–27
What if the reason you struggle with money isn’t simply because you need another budget?
What if there’s a deeper story underneath the spending, the overdraft, the credit card balances, the avoidance and the feeling that no matter how much money comes in, there never seems to be enough left?
You may know exactly what you should be doing with your money.
Spend less.
Save more.
Pay off the debt.
Stick to the budget.
But knowing what to do and actually being able to do it consistently are two very different things.
Because money isn’t just about numbers.
Money is emotional.
Our financial behaviours can be shaped by our childhood experiences, our beliefs about ourselves, the environments we grew up in, the ways we learned to cope and survive, and the stories we have unconsciously carried about money for years.
And until we understand the story underneath our financial behaviour, we can find ourselves repeating the same patterns again and again.
Impulse spending.
Emotional spending.
Avoiding the bank account.
Living in the overdraft.
Paying down the credit card… only to fill it back up again.
Promising ourselves that next month will be different.
Rewrite Your Money Story is designed to help make next month different.
Imagine reaching Christmas knowing your money story has begun to change.
Imagine opening your banking app without that familiar knot in your stomach.
Imagine seeing your credit card balance steadily decreasing.
Having money left at the end of the month.
Building savings instead of constantly dipping into them.
Getting out of your overdraft.
Walking into a shop and knowing you don’t have to buy something just because you’re stressed, overwhelmed or looking for comfort.
And imagine entering Christmas feeling more intentional about what you spend — rather than starting another January wondering how you’re going to pay for December.
This is about more than creating a budget.
It’s about changing your relationship with money from the inside out.
A Different Approach to Money Management
Rewrite Your Money Story is a powerful four-week financial education programme that combines practical money management with a trauma-informed understanding of financial behaviour.
Instead of asking:
“Why can’t I just be better with money?”
we begin asking:
“What is driving my financial behaviour — and what would help me make a different choice?”
There is no shaming you for what you’ve spent.
No telling you that you simply need more willpower.
No pretending that money exists separately from your emotions, experiences and everyday life.
Instead, you’ll begin understanding why you do what you do with money — while learning practical strategies to help you create lasting change.
The goal is simple:
More awareness.
More intentionality.
Less debt.
More savings.
And more money left at the end of the month.
What You’ll Learn
WEEK ONE — Money, Trauma & Your Bank Statement
Your bank statement tells a story.
This week, we’ll begin looking beneath the numbers and exploring how trauma, stress, emotional regulation and past experiences can influence the way you spend, save and manage money.
You’ll begin identifying your personal financial patterns and recognising the emotional triggers that may be costing you more than you realise.
Awareness comes before change.
And this week, you’ll begin seeing your money differently.
WEEK TWO — The Psychology of Money
Why can spending £50 feel irresistible today… and terrifying tomorrow?
Why do we buy things we didn’t plan to buy?
Why can we earn more money and somehow still find ourselves with nothing left?
This week, we’ll explore the beliefs, habits and psychological patterns influencing your financial decisions.
You’ll begin uncovering your personal money story — and challenging the beliefs that are keeping you stuck.
Because when your thinking around money changes, your financial decisions can begin changing too.
WEEK THREE — Cultivate Savings Discipline
Saving shouldn’t be something that only happens when there’s money left over.
Because somehow… there rarely is.
This week, you’ll learn how to make saving an intentional part of your financial life.
We’ll focus on building realistic, sustainable savings habits so you can begin creating a financial cushion and experience the confidence that comes from knowing you have money set aside.
Not perfection.
Not deprivation.
Consistency.
WEEK FOUR — Eliminate Debt
Debt can feel heavy.
Sometimes so heavy that we’d rather avoid looking at it altogether.
This week, we’ll bring the numbers into the light.
You’ll learn how to approach your debt strategically, create a plan for paying it down and start making meaningful progress towards becoming debt-free.
Instead of wondering whether you’ll ever get out of debt, you’ll leave knowing what you’re doing next.

And People Are Already Seeing the Difference…
“I’ve not allowed myself to therapy shop in Costco anymore.”
That awareness matters.
Because changing your money story often begins in those everyday moments when you recognise an old pattern — and choose differently.
Another participant shared:
“My credit card balances are steadily going down. I’ve paid one off completely, and it feels lovely to know that at the end of this month, my overdraft will no longer be lived in.”
And another said:
“By God’s grace, I have stopped all unnecessary spending.”
These aren’t simply changes on a spreadsheet.
They’re changes in behaviour.
And those small changes, repeated month after month, can completely transform your financial future.
What Could Change For You?
Over these four weeks, you’ll begin developing the knowledge, awareness and practical tools to:
Stop living paycheck to paycheck.
Understand the emotional patterns behind your spending.
Reduce unnecessary and impulsive purchases.
Have more money left at the end of the month.
Build a consistent savings habit.
Create a clear plan for tackling your debt.
Reduce your reliance on credit cards and overdrafts.
Feel more confident looking at your finances.
Make financial decisions intentionally rather than emotionally.
And ultimately…
become someone who feels more confident and in control of their money.
Your Past Money Decisions Don’t Have to Dictate Your Financial Future.
Maybe you’ve tried budgeting before.
Maybe you’ve promised yourself countless times that this month you’ll do better.
Maybe you’ve downloaded the spreadsheets.
Deleted the shopping apps.
Started saving.
Stopped saving.
Paid off some debt.
Built it back up.
None of that means lasting change is out of reach.
It may simply mean that nobody ever helped you understand the story underneath the numbers.
That’s where we’re starting.
Not with shame.
Not with judgement.
Not with another lecture about everything you’ve done wrong.
With understanding, education and practical action.
What Story Do You Want to Be Telling by Christmas?
“I finally paid off that credit card.”
“I don’t live in my overdraft anymore.”
“I have savings.”
“I can go into a shop without buying things I don’t need.”
“I know where my money is going.”
“I actually have money left at the end of the month.”
“I feel in control.”
Imagine walking into the Christmas season with that feeling.
Not financial perfection.
Financial progress.
The kind you can see in your bank account — and feel in yourself.

Your money story has already had many chapters.
Some may contain decisions you wouldn’t make again.
Some may contain survival.
